Calling all ladies! Interested in learning more about servicing your bike in a supportive and inclusive environment? Join our first ever all Female Basic Bike Mechanics Course! Classes will be small enough that each attendee will be able to actively participate at her own bike stand. Join Bicycle Mechanic and Community Engagement Coordinator Christina as we learn the basics of bicycle servicing.

Each week we will build upon the skills of the prior week. If you would like to learn on your own bike feel free to bring it. Bikes will be provided if you do not own one or would like to practice with one of ours.

The following will be covered in the 3 week course:

  1. Safe & Legal riding
  2. Flat repair
  3. Basic adjustments to brakes & brake pads
  4. Basic adjustments to derailleurs
  5. How to get out of roadside pickles

A few COVID specific precautions we are taking:

  1. Limited course size from 12 to 6 participants
  2. Masks/face coverings required for the entirety of the course
  3. Hand sanitizer on the ready
  4. Socially distant work spaces

Each session will last 5:30-7:30 January 12th, 19th, and 26th at GoodTurn Cycles in the Aspen Shopping Center. Feel free to email christina@goodturncycles.org with any questions.

The course is pay-what-you-can, with no minimum donation. All money we receive will be treated as a donation to provide job training to young people with barriers to employment.

Limited space is available due to COVID-19 restrictions so sign up early! To register, shoot christina@goodturncycles.org an email stating your interest. Ideally each participant will be able to make each class, however exceptions can be made if the attendee has to miss one session.
